My Story

My passion for learning developed alongside my own education journey. As an undergraduate, I developed academically and identified my strengths for writing and critical thinking. I then leveraged this in my professional life by creating training manuals and onboarding curriculum for new hires. This work only grew as I graduated and completed a term of service with AmeriCorps. There I worked with first generation and low-income college students and learned that creating guides for common scenarios proved beneficial for them/their families. I continued to develop these skills at University of Wisconsin-Madison as both an employee and student. I authored training modules, KnowledgeBase documents, internal documentation, alongside other process improvements, often taking the initiative to learn new software on my own.

As an experienced and successful communicator, I am eager to learn and strive to be data-driven in my work whenever possible. With a master's degree in educational psychology and an accessible design certificate, I am equipped to train employees, simplify complicated processes, and create accessible onboarding experiences.

My Approach

I believe that a people-first approach is crucial for creating realistic and effective solutions. This involves managing expectations, incorporating feedback, utilizing iterative design and data-driven decision making. A systematic needs assessment can also help to ensure that design goals are met and that expectations are clear. Building strong relationships and developing rapport with users is key, and this requires a foundation of trust. To this end, I utilize my strength as a communicator, focusing on honest, transparent communication while managing expectations and setting reasonable goals. Furthermore, I wholeheartedly welcome feedback and believe that revisions are a necessary and positive component of any project.
